My (Reading & Non-Reading) Goals for 2026
Why, yes. I am very aware that my editing could use a more delicate hand. We're working on it... add it to the list of my resolutions.
Happy New Year, lovely folk! I'm so happy you're here!
If you would, please watch the video FIRST, then come back and read the rest. Thank you much.
TWO BIG ANNOUNCEMENTS
First... I (finally) have brand consistency! (Clap for me, please. I am very proud.)
I am now @marysmanybooks absolutely everywhere. That handle began with Instagram, but now it is the same across TikTok, Bindery, and YouTube. I am not on Threads or X (and I never will be — you can't make me).
The @pepperobrien handle is still my personal account on Instagram, but I have done away with it elsewhere in favor of keeping my focus on books and reading content. Don't you worry, though. There will be travel vlogs and other updates as we grow.
Which brings us to my second announcement: a goal for 2026 that I DID NOT mention in the video above is to post more long-form content. I have a long list of ideas and am in the process of scripting my next several YouTube contributions. While I've been tricked before by the "what's happening to TikTok" gremlins, I do want to follow my own logic of intentionality and consider my posts a touch more carefully.
Trust me, I have no plans at all to abandon my TikTok account. It is far and away the platform that has given me the most, both financially and in terms of community/following. That said, it is increasingly tricky to ensure my content is getting to the people who want to see it, and at this point, it is wise of me to pivot. I will continue posting on TikTok, and most of them will also be cross-posted to TikTok shorts and Instagram Reels, but I do want to focus on ramping up my static content on Instagram and long-form videos on YouTube.
Thank you eternally for your patience as we go through the growing pains of that process.
